Who teaches the seminars? Why isn't the instructor named?

Skip the Cert is run by an instructor with 10+ years of software experience and hands-on AI work at both early-stage startups and Big Tech. The public site is intentionally taught under the brand rather than under a personal name. the seminars are about whether the frameworks work for you, not about the brand on the byline. Full bio and verifiable credentials are shared privately with enrolled attendees.

Is the "Breaking Into Software" workshop realistic for someone with zero experience?

Realistic, yes. The honest timeline depends on your starting point: 3-6 months (fast-track) for top performers with adjacent technical background (engineer from another industry, data background, math/physics/EE degree, or a strong portfolio of related work). 12-18 months (standard path) for true beginners without related technical background. Both paths target $200K+ first software roles at top tech companies and high-growth startups, not generic junior listings that cap at $90K. We do not promote "land a $200K+ job in 30 days" claims. If that's what you're looking for, this is the wrong workshop.

What do I get when I reserve a seat?

No workshop, including this one, can promise you a job or a specific salary. The "$400K+" describes the top end of new-grad AI offers the workshop prepares you to target: roles at frontier AI labs (Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepMind) and top-tier AI teams at Big Tech (Meta AI, Google DeepMind, Stripe, Databricks) where total comp for L4/L5 new grads can reach $300K-$450K+ per Levels.fyi. These are the most competitive new-grad AI offers in the market; the workshop teaches the positioning, portfolio, and interview craft to compete for them. The "$800K+" refers to the multi-year career trajectory: with strong execution and the career acceleration playbook covered in the workshop, staff/principal AI roles paying $800K+ are realistic within 3-5 years. How do the 1:1 follow-up sessions work?

Can my employer pay for this?

Often, yes. Stripe issues a paid invoice on purchase that you can submit for reimbursement. If your employer needs a W-9 or specific invoicing fields, email hello@skipthecert.com.

What's the refund policy?

Full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled session. Within 24 hours of the session, no refund, but you may request a one-time transfer to a future cohort. After the session has started or been attended, no refunds or transfers. See the Refund Policy below for full terms.

Will the session be recorded?

No. Skip the Cert workshops are live and not recorded. That's intentional. The format depends on you being present, doing the exercises, and getting real-time feedback. Passive consumption of a recording is not what gets people hired. Can't make the cohort? Roll your seat to a future date, or book a 1:1 follow-up at $100/hr.

These services are provided by Hispid Consulting LLC ("we", "us"). By purchasing a seat or booking a consultation you agree to these terms. The seminars and consultations are educational in nature. We make no guarantee of employment, income, or any specific outcome. You retain ownership of your own work; we retain ownership of all course materials, frameworks, and recordings, which you may not redistribute without written permission. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to these services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific seminar or consultation at issue. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, Collin County, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Privacy Policy

We collect only the information needed to deliver the service: your name and email (collected at checkout), and payment data handled by Stripe. We do not sell your data. Email is sent through Google Workspace; payments are processed by Stripe under their own privacy and security terms. You can request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing hello@skipthecert.com. We use cookies only for basic analytics and the Calendly/Stripe widgets embedded on this page.

Refund Policy

Workshop bookings and 1:1 sessions follow the schedule below. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

More than 24 hours before your scheduled session: Full refund of the booking fee, returned to your original payment method.
Within 24 hours of your scheduled session: No refund. You may request a one-time transfer to a future cohort, subject to availability, offered at our discretion as a courtesy.
After your session has started or has been attended: No refund and no transfer. The service has been rendered.

To request a refund or transfer, email hello@skipthecert.com from the email address used at checkout. Refunds, when issued, are returned to the original payment method within 5-10 business days.

Chargeback notice: if you have a billing concern, please contact us first. Initiating a credit card chargeback before reaching out is a breach of these Terms; we reserve the right to dispute chargebacks with documentation of this disclosed refund policy and your acknowledgment at purchase.
